2008 Grammy’s Recap

So I didn’t catch the Grammy’s when they aired a few days ago, and I know its kinda old now, but I still wanted to post a few vids I found and enjoyed.

First If I knew Beyonce and Tina Turner were going to be performing together, I would of made it a point to find a TV to be in front of. Watching those Legs together was better than the Superbowl! Im not even sure why the two were performing together or who won an award for what? If you got the skinny let me know?

Next… Kanye’s Acceptance Speech. Now like I said I missed the show, so can somebody tell me who Ye was up against for Album of the Year? I think Hov, T.I., were mentioned as nominees last time I checked. But anyway… Chicagorilla posted the clip of Kanyes performance from the night, (you can check it out below), and I must say I was very impressed with the show and the way it was put together. Especially how he got Daft Punk (Where the Stronger Sample came from) to show up for the event. Now I know what your thinking, “why wouldn’t they show up,” as far as I know thats the first time Daft Punk has ever been on TV (other than a music video, performing)! And they’ve been around damn near 20 years or so. (correct me if Im wrong.) — Sidebar – We showed the Daft Punk movie “Electrama” last Fall in Atlanta, one of the Robots from the movie showed up, the movie was MAD Bugged out, I wasn’t under the influence of anything, so I couldn’t really get into it, not to mention its a silent film. LOL. …. Back to the Point. The Grammys have a horrible history of hitting Hip Hop and R & B artists with the music during their speeches. It’s like there saying “we gave you an award, now get the hell on!” Remember how they did Mary J the other year? Dirty! I commend Ye for being tasteful about the situation –”it would be in good taste to stop the music then” – WE AGREE! – You see how quick they turned that music off? Classic!

Amy Winehouse took a couple statues home. Also performs live from London. Is is me, or does shorty look a HOT MESS!!!!!? UGGGGH… The Band Is Killing It Though!!! The next time they tell Amy shes needs to go to Rehab, she needs to say Yes, Yes, Yes!!!
