Recently Atlanta director Rick Foy (DVID Films) reached out too me about being interviewed and performing on his new program “The No Airplay Show.” I’ve known Rick for a few years now, and we’ve never gotten a chance to work, so when he reached out, I was more than happy to be apart of what he crafting. We linked one morning knocked out an interview and performance scene for the song “Til Your Dead” and the rest is explained below…
Til Your Dead is produced by NYC DJ, DJ Eleven (The Rub). Eleven is another person I’ve known for some years now. The Rub crew is some of the hardest working DJ’s I know. I have an immense amount of respect for Eleven, Cosmo Baker, and Ayres and what they’ve been doing for the past 5 years I’ve been paying attention.
Eleven reached out too me about a project he was working on. Up until he sent me this beat, I didn’t know he was working on tracks. Which is crazy, cause I think he knew me for years, and didn’t know that I rapped. HA. As soon as I heard this beat, I wanted to create something too it. The song was sampled from the “Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs” popular song “Heads Will Roll” aka Dance Till Your Dead. I loved the energy from the sample, as well as the classic drums from Schooly D’s PSK. I originally recored only the first verse to this and sent it back to Eleven. He liked and put it out via his site Eleven Inch Records. After listening to it for a while, I felt like it was missing something. So I decided to write and record a second verse to the song. The song is featured on my latest project “The Most Interesting MC In The World” which if you don’t have yet, I strongly suggest you add to your sound library.
