Bomani Armah

For those who don’t know I co-host “Da Show” on 89.3 WRFG Atlanta, Ga every Tues Nite/ Weds Morn from 3am-6am & then we back on Weds Nite @ 12am. If you live outside the ATL log on to www.wrfg.org to listen live. So this past Tues after Brand Nubian we had “Mr. Read A Book” Bomani Armah fresh off his Mic Club debut. Great interview! Dude is an exceptional human being. Very intelligent.

I know we posted this before but in case you forgot

Here’s the new video that serves as a follow up to all the “Read a Book” controversy.

  • All the Videos is dead

  • The videos are straight

  • Vids look ok to me! I caught some of Da Show on Wed. Good shit homie! Had some good dialogue

  • Problem I have with dudes like him (the read a book song still makes me very upset) is that it their message is about ego. It’s about themselves. I fail to see how it could be about the community. Fact is that the only people listening to what he is saying are people that believe it already. His message is abrassive to anyone that doesn’t share his vision of the world and what he wants it to be. That’s the easy way out. A cop out. The harder work isn’t in condemning or daming realities, but activiley working with those WITHIN them to change these realities. It means that you’ll have to reach that drug dealer, that underachiever, that bully, that lost individual.

I don’t see this happening with tracks like he’s spitting or the message he’s sharing. It’s poverty pimping at it’s finest, IMO. I put folk like him and NYoil in the same group as Creflo Dollar and ‘em.

    That’s just my opinion, though.
