If your in Atlanta, Ga make sure you pick up a copy of the new Creative Loafing, the headline on the front reads: GOT HIP HOP?

Well guess what… for all you people that have been sleeping on ATL, only watching what you see on TV and hear on mainstream radio, Atlanta does have Hip Hop.

And recently Kalonji (FTP), Amond Jackson got together to present this project that displays that.

Jay Z – Blueprint 3: Artwork + Tracklist

Just caught the artwork and tracklist for Jay Z’s new album Blueprint 3.

So Jay Z finally did something smart, he got producers NO I.D. and Kanye West to produce the ENTIRE album. I can dig that. Now I need Nas to go get with Dj Premier and knock out that album they were talking about a few years ago.

jay-z_blueprint3_cover.jpg

1. What We Talking About (Produced by Kanye West)
2. D.O.A. (Produced by No I.D.)
3. Weigh Me Down Feat. Kid Cudi (Produced by Kanye West)
4. Unforgiven (Produced by Kanye West, Additional Production: MGMT)
5. Run This Town Feat. Rihanna & Kanye West (Produced by Kanye West)
6. Empire State Of Mind Feat. Nas (Produced by Kanye West & No I.D.)
7. When It Comes To This (Produced by Timbaland)
8. Always Feat. Drake (Produced by Kanye West)
9. Scenes From The Past (Produced by No I.D., Co-produced by Kanye West)
10. Everyday A Star Is Born Feat. Mr. Hudson (Produced by Kanye West)
11. Already Home (Produced by Kanye West)
12. Forever Young Feat. Mr. Hudson (Produced by Kanye West)
13. Thank You (Produced by No I.D.)

Bonus Tracks:
14. Sound Of The 70s (Produced by Kanye West)
15. We Made History (Produced by Kanye West)

So looking at the tracklist, looks like none of the songs that have been dropping for the past year or so are going to be on this album. No Dead Preisdents 3 (D.P.3), No Jocking Jay Z, and No When The Money Goes.

Also looks like some suspect guest appearances. Kid Cudi, Drake, and Mr. Hudson? No dis to none of those artists, but If I’m Jay Z this deep in the game I’m trying to collab with Stevie Wonder, I’ve always had the theory Jay is scared to get beasted on record, that’s why he uses the Roots as his band, but has NEVER done anything with Black Thought? … Can’t wait to check out this record with Jay and Nas though.

Anyway, in case you don’t care what I think, there’s the artwork and tracklist. Blueprint 3 will be in stores on September 11th, 2009.

Breaking News: Rest In Peace Baatin (Slum Village)

I woke up this morning to see Dwele posted on Twitter that Baatin of Slum Village fame had passed away. I was shocked, stunned. I reached out to a few other people, before I made this post, to make sure it wasn’t a rumor, and everybody I spoke with said it’s official.

DAMN!!!

In the late 90′s / Early 2000′s Slum Village had a CRAZY buzz, and Baatin and Jay Dee had quotes for days on Fantastic Vol. 2. I saw them perform damn near everytime they came to ATL. Speaking of which Mr. Oh.G.Fro and the good people from Frolab posted this Vintage footage of Slum Village performing in Atlanta. I want to say this is like from like 01 or 02.

I think this is the show that me and Jax were in the front row, WILDING OUT!!!

Rest In Peace Baatin, and our prayers go out to his family and everybody in the D.

Read A Book “Free – The Future of a Radical Price”

Chris Anderson is the EIC (editor in chief) for WIRED Magazine. I am currently reading his previous book THE LONG TAIL (review coming soon). I find his insight nothing short of brilliant. In looking for him on twitter today I found that he released a new book right underneath my nose! FREE – The Future of a Radical Price. The concept is:

“Chris Anderson demonstrated how the online marketplace creates niche markets, allowing products and consumers to connect in a way that has never been possible before. Now, in FREE he makes the compelling case that in many instances businesses can profit more from giving things away than they can by charging for them. Far more than a promotional gimmick, FREE is a business strategy that may well be essential to a company’s survival.”

I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy and digest it. Once I do you know I’ll share my review with you but in the meantime if you can’t wait for my review go ahead and get your copy by clicking the link below.
