Final Broke and Boujee Feb 28th @ The Mark

words from Fadia:

All good things must come to an end.. and BROKE $ BOUJEE is saying farewell for a bit..Its been a FULL YEAR.. and we are celebrating in conjunction with KICKS AND THE CITY for their one year anniversary as well….

2007 was amazing.. Broke $ BouJee established a certain lifestyle in the Atlanta scene and gave fashion lines, crews and music a platform with a built in fan-base… but now its time for bigger and better things… you can catch B$B in the following cities in 2008

NYC

MIAMI

HOUSTON

CHICAGO

but for now..lets focus on The Class of 2007.. and we are having a real life PROM..So its not mandatory to wear PROM ATTIRE.. BUT… how much fun would it be if you had a PROM do -over…

Malibu Winter Beach Bash Open Bar!!!

malibuwbb_evite_2_7copy.jpg

So this past Thursday night we went to the Malibu Winter Beach Bash at the Mason Murer Museum in Buckhead. Dj Tayrok invited us to come out, and you know I don’t say no to an Open Bar!!! From the moment we walked in we thought, “this set up is fresh!” They turned the whole venue into a beach like atmosphere with palm trees, lifeguard towers, all the bars looked like Tiki huts, Etc. The crowd was extra stiff when we showed up, seemed to be a bunch of people who had day jobs, still had their work face on. So we went straight for the bar.

img_2606.JPG

Throughout the venue in every lil corner there was a different bar which featured a different drink. We stopped at the Mango Mojito stand first. Hmmm… Real Smooth drink, notice hows theres no lines, there were so many different bars you didn’t have to wait, just walk up and grab a drink! Every club should be like this!

img_2607.JPG

img_2624.JPG

On the other side of the room they had this Virtual Volleyball thing set up. Its just a screen that looks like your on the beach, but your actually playing volleyball. Real fresh, shorty was losing when we snapped this pic.

img_2613.JPG

This was the main bar, there were 7 different types of drinks to choose from, all had crazy names. I tried at least one of each during the night. The Green Monkey joint despite the name was actually aiiiiight.

img_2614.JPG

img_2615.JPG

It took us a minute but we finally found the food.

img_2617.JPG

So during the night I walked around, tried every drink, chatted, found the food, snapped a couple pics and was trying to figure out who the hell the first Dj was. I think his name was Cisco Adler or something, BOOOOO!!! Son was wack, let me take that back, I wont see he was wack, I’ll just say he was in the wrong enviroment with the selection he chose to play. Maybe in LA at a Hipster party or in NY in Williamburg that would of been cool, But homie this is ATL! So finally with only like 30 mins before the event is shut down, Dj Tayrok jumps on the wheels and saves the day! From the time he jumped on the decks till closing time the place was rocking! Farnswerth Bentley (you know the Umbrella dude) was in the place, and played some of his so called new music (we heard that joint mad long ago! Shout to Happy from Hustle Im still waiting on that $).

img_2627.JPG

I’ve never seen a bar you can sit and swing while you drink!

img_2633.JPG

img_2628.JPG

Like I said, we tried EVERY drink!!!

All in all, very good time, Thanks to Malibu for putting on this event, we need this joint like once a month round here.

HAWKS BEAT THE LAKERS 98 TO 95!!! ACT RIGHT!!!

vslakers_020608_3.jpg

For a team with legitimate playoff aspirations for the first time in nearly a decade, the Hawks still have doubters around town.

And there were quite a few of them in the stands at Philips Arena on Wednesday night, cheering mostly for Kobe Bryant and the visiting Los Angeles Lakers while the Hawks were busy recording one of their biggest victories of the season.

They battled back from a nine-point deficit to win a 98-95 thriller before a raucous sellout crowd of 19,701 that stood for the final two minutes of the game.

Just as impressive as the victory was the way the Hawks (21-24) won, maintaining their composure in the face of a mostly hostile crowd that seemed more interested in Bryant and the Lakers than they did the young crew that calls this city home.

“This is one of the best wins we’ve had all year,” Hawks forward Josh Smith said after flirting with a triple-double for the second consecutive game, finishing with 17 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and five blocks.

Wyclef tears down the Tabernacle

So we got to check out the Wyclefs charity event at the Tabernacle this Saturday and he TORE THE PLACE DOWN. Since I’m from Jerz it was EXTRA crazy when he started performing old Fugees songs(the greatest group eva in my opinion lol).
Dude definitely had plenty of material to go through, and the crowd was vibing with him the entire time. He took it up to the NEXT level when he performed his last song and proceeded to run throughout the crowd. I never seen somebody do that shit in my life. Dude ran from the bottom to the top.. climbed on the balcony…almost fell!!!! came back down and ran into the middle of the crowd until they carried his ass back on stage! CRAAAAAAAAZY!!!

Overall it was a good show….and im still waitin for that fugees album.. i dont care what nobody say. Lauryn come back to us!! lol the game needs you sane and making good music!!!
