The Kaos Effect Reviews Kid Cudi – Man On The Moon Album

Kid-Cudi.jpg

Aiiiiight so check it Me (Señor Kaos) and Chicagorilla were invited to this Kid Cudi listening session for his new album “Man On The Moon” which is coming out via Kanye’s label G.O.O.D. Music. The good people (Terrell) invited us out, and he’s good peoples. OH… I forgot to mention we’re here RIGHT now, making this post live.

So we’re going to go song for song, I’m going to tell you what I think, and Go Rilla will let you know how he feels as well…. Heeeeeere We Gooooo!

#1 In My Dreams
SK: If I was high and went to the studio to remake D’Angelos How Does It Feel, it would come out sounding like this. The Common guest poem at the end was refreshing.
GOrilla: The track is reeeeeaaaaaaalllllll simple and sets the tone for the album… zzzzzzzz…..

#2 Soundtrack to My Life
GOrilla: Dude sounds like Kanye rapping on this
SK: I like the content, lets us know a lil more about who he is on this one. Talks about his family, stuff he’s going thru, etc. Beat is boring as hell though. He’s spilling his soul, beat should reflect that, it needs some SOUL.

#3 Simple As
SK: I like this beat from the second it drops, Drums is Knocking…. Common is back.. But even Rasheed can’t save this song.
GOrilla: The beat knocks crazy!!! I wish he would’ve switched up the flow to complement the beat though. He still sounds like Kanye on the cadence and delivery when he could’ve went in on this joint!!!!

#4 Solo Dolo (Nightmare)
GOrilla: I think dude feelings is hurt or he was touched as a kid or something. The music is drab and melancholy.
SK: THIS SONG IS A NIGHTMARE FOR ME TO LISTEN TOO:(

#5 Heart Of A Lion (Kid Cudi Theme)
SK: Heart of a Lion…… I don’t know about all that. This joint is WEAK Sauce
GOrilla: This project sounds like a cross between Bjork and 808′s & Heartbreaks pt 2

#6 My World Feat. Billy Cravens
GOrilla: Monotonous flow gets very boring after a while. Trying to keep in mind is for a completely younger hipster demo.
SK: Sounds like he high as hell and mega Depressing!!!

#7 Day And Nite
SK: Maaaaaaaaaaaaan I’m so damn tired of this song!!! Pass :( Great record, I’m just tired of it.
GOrilla: Day & Nite… Woot woot…

#8 Sky Might Fall
GOrilla: It just did…
SK: It fell on me, I’m dead now!

#9 Entergalactic Love Connection
SK: I like this joint… good rhythm, nice beat, I would hear Will.I.Am on the Remix. This should do great in the club. 3rd Single?
GOrilla: Dude just woke up!!! 9 tracks in and dude finally wakes up!!! This is definitely a club tune.

#10 Alive (Nightmare)
GOrilla: I was hoping my dude would come alive on this track…
SK: What is this dude talking bout??? I’m lost.

#11 Cudi Zone
SK: Some of these songs are starting to sound like they were recorded for his demo, this joint is boring!
GOrilla: Futuristic track kind of knocks. i’n going back to sleep. Wake me up when the next track comes on dude.

#12 Make Her Say
GOrilla: THE DOPEST TRACK ON THE ALBUM PERIOD!!! Well done!
SK: Agree with the Go Rilla. This is Def the best song on the album. I’ve liked this joint since the first time I’ve heard it. I like the video too.

#13 Pursuit of Happiness
SK: Depressing. There’s too much sadness in the world right now, I don’t need to hear this. I need a Happy Song Cudi.
GOrilla: Interestingly enough I like dude’s message of pursuing his dreams and overcoming obstacles. But it sounds like he trying to kill himself

#14 Hyyerrr
GOrilla: This will get hella cool points with the ladies on some ol’ school midwest flow. Plus my man finally switches up the flow to complement the track
SK: Yeah I’m glad money switched up the flow on this one. Sounds like Bump And Grind 2010. LOL

# 15 Up, Up & Away
SK: “They gone judge me anyway…. so whatever! I can’t front, I like this song. I could see this getting heavy play on Crossover radio. Sounds like a band is in the studio with him. I could see this joint rocking live too. This is one of the few songs I could hear again.
GOrilla: This is the hip hop version of a COLDPLAY record. Good way to end the album seriously.

OVERALL:
SK: Same flow on damn near every song. Money sounds depressed, and is making me depressed. This album is pretty boring. Could of made a dope EP though. 5 songs, Bong. The Common features can’t even save this album. This dude is on the moon, the album is still on earth.
GOrilla:Yeah what he said. I’m going to take a bottle of sleeping pills and drink some vodka and kill myself!!! LOL! Rofl!

Rating System: 1 Brick = Automatic Classic 2 Bricks = Solid Effort 3 Bricks = Aiiiiiiight 4 Bricks = Your Buggin 5 Bricks = What the hell were you thinking! You deserve to get hit with 5 bricks to face for us having to listen to this.

Señor Kaos Reviews “Ready 2 Rumble Revolution”: Video Game

Ready-2-Rumble.JPG

First off – BIG SHOUTS OUT TO Romeo C. for being very patient with me, and this review. So I’ve have this game for a good 5 months now, and JUST now getting a chance to type up this review and share my thoughts.

Why? – If you follow this blog, you see what I’ve been up too, on the road, filming videos, putting new projects together, and of course Regular Life kicks in, and theirs Bills, Bills, and Bills to be paid.

With that said, after a long day, there’s nothing like coming home and checking out Atari’s “Ready 2 Rumble Revolution” video game for the Nintendo Wii. It’s the perfect way to end a rough day, facing off with your TV and beating the living mess out of somebody. Also makes for a good workout might I add.

Unlike other boxing games for the Wii I’ve played, the punches for R2RR are well thought out. The best thing you can do is go ALL the way thru the tutorial at the beginning of the game. This will give you a Great idea on what your up against when the real fighting starts. You also have to understand how the RUMBlE meter thing works, which is filled up by taunting the other fighter, and counter punching. Once it gets full, it allows you to unleash powerful combos that can give you a K.O. if all the punches hit their mark.

Another great feature about this the game is the ability to create your own character. You have the option to choose everything about your boxer, including their fighting style and even how they are introduced in the ring. The more fights you win, the more money you make, and the more money you have, the more you can unlock extras.

The only thing I didn’t like about R2RR was some of the controls when you get heavy into fighting. At first I had to check my Wii remote to make sure my batteries were fully charged (which they were). Some of the motions seem a lil unresponsive which is very important for the Wii since the game is so interactive and based on your movements. This made me very frustrated with this game at times, but overall I had a good time, and It’s a great game to play by yourself or amongst friends.

Atari’s Ready 2 Rumble Revolution for the Wii gets 2 bricks to the face.

Señor Kaos Reviews Lux Pain: Video Game

lux-pain.jpg

So recently I got a copy of Lux Pain (Nintendo DS) in the mail for me to review. After playing the game for sometime now, I think it’s safe to say I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS GAME WAS MADE!

The story revolves around the game’s main character Atsuki Saijo. Atsuki is a member of an underground task force known as FORT, who is seeking out some sort of evil known as SILENT that is responsible for a rash of unexplained suicides. To get to the bottom of this threat and prevent more deaths, Atsuki needs to make use of his, ugh, telepathic powers and must, double ugh, go undercover at a local high school to gather information.

One second I was scratching the screen looking for worms, the next second I’m stuck in a chat with a character that seems to have nothing to do with nothing.

Remember those old Kung Fu movies, where the characters mouths and sound didn’t match? Well this game is like that. It sounds as if it was translated a few different times before it reached U.S. soil.

There’s WAY too much dialogue, the plot makes little to no sense, un-exciting gameplay all = a game I will never play again!

Lux Pain = 5 Bricks To The Face. = THIS GAME SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN MADE!

Video Game: Call Of Duty – World At War

call-of-duty-world-war.jpg

Call of Duty is back, redefining war like you’ve never experienced before. Building on the Call of Duty 4®: Modern Warfare engine, Call of Duty: World at War immerses players into the most gritty and chaotic WWII combat ever experienced. Players band together to survive the most harrowing and climactic battles that led to the demise of the Axis powers on the European and Pacific fronts. The title offers an uncensored experience with unique enemies and combat variety, including Kamikaze fighters, ambush attacks, Banzai charges and cunning cover tactics, as well as explosive on-screen action through the all new four-player cooperative campaign. The addictive competitive multiplayer has also been enhanced with new infantry and vehicle-based action, a higher level cap, more weapons, and a host of new Perks, maps and challenges.”

call-of-duty-4.jpg

The good people at Activision laced TKE with a copy of the new game, here’s what I thought:

As typical of any of the games in the COD series this game starts off putting you right in the thick of it. The game is set right at the beginning of World War II and you start off as the captured POW Private Miller from the U.S.M.C. . You are then rescued by Marines from your platoon and it’s on. The bullets are flying, explosions are are destroying buildings and you get the feeling of being involved in a real fire fight just without the risk of taking a real a real bullet to your cranium. This game is action packed from beginning to end with a great story line that will definitely keep you interested and wanting to find out what’s next. Also typical of the COD series the weapons and vehicles are typical of what was used at the moment in time and if all else fails one word people……….. FLAMETHROWER!

Pros:

Great game play and storyline makes it easy for the player to become involved in the World War II conflict.
Fast and furious action keeps the player excited wanting more.
New advanced AI makes your enemy a really formidable adversary.
FLAMETHROWER!

Cons:

Not a lot of improvements since the last COD.
Since there is a lot of action it makes the game seem really short.

Bonus:

I’m going to just keep it real right now and say that anyone who is a fan of the COD series or just shooters in general this game is a must have. Similar to it’s predecessor this game is going to be right up there with the mentions of Game of the Year. Anyone who considers them self a serious gamer will have this in their collection. This game gets a 4.5 out of 5 bricks.

09. Common – What A World feat. Chester French (Neptunes)
10. Common – Everywhere feat. Santogold (Mr. DJ)

Ok so im listening to the advance copy of Commons “Universal Mind Control”.. slated to released on December 9th

From a previous interview I remember Com saying that this album(originally named Invincible Summer) would be

“music for the summer time, it’s about feeling good,” says Common. “This is the type of music I felt was missing from my body of work.”

I can definately see where he was going with this album.. but the question is.. will it connect with the fans? Well I suppose it depends on which fans your talking about. Folks that have been rolling with Com since the jump might not feel this album.. seeing as how its a bit far from what your used to hearing Com do. Folks might call this joint his Electric Circus pt. 2.

This album features alot of uptempo joints and is definitely techno inspired. Me personally.. one of the very few that was diggin elecrtic circus.. This joint the first listen through is just AIGHT. It may take me a minute to let some of this marinate for me to truly apreciate it. But fom my first impression.. im not blown away by it.

Certified Bangers on this joint are Universal Mind Control, Gladiator, and Announcement. Those are the joints where Com really goes in.

I definately think this would have been a better summer release. Its always good to hear some new sh*t from Common…but i was expecting a little bit more. Even still.. ill be going out and copping this joint to complete the collection. Even as i type this out now the album is growing on me a bit more.

All in all..on this joint.. i give

3.5 bricks to the face out of 5

If you havent heard the advance copy of the album.. consult your local bootlegger. lol and as always.. if you like it.. SUPPORT IT by purchasing the album.
