Event Recap: 411 Brand Event @ Nike Store Lenox (ATL)

Recently at the Nike Store Lenox in ATL I had the chance to work on an event with the 411 Brand. Created by John Thomas in 1992, the 411 Brand fuses music, sports, and entertainment figures with education to teach kids the importance of proper decision making. Since the 90′s the 411 Brand has hosted sports camps (Basketball, Golf, etc.) in urban communities across the country, as well as conducted successful panels. The 411 brand has worked with major music artists such as Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Goodie Mob, LL Cool J, Usher, and many more over the years.

“The411 Brand Program was created for the sole purpose of bridging the gap between successful individuals and a generation striving to become successful. We currently live in a world where many young people measure success by the amount of material things you have. Although this could be an indication of your accomplishments, it is by no means what makes you successful. We believe that, success comes from setting a goal and completing the journey it takes to achieve that goal. Each of our programs are designed to provide an opportunity for young adults to hear some of the most amazing journeys by some of the most successful individuals in our world today.” – John Thomas

This past weekends event featured Eshe of Arrested Development, Lamman Rucker (Actor: Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married 1&2) and was hosted by Big Lez (Former host of BET’s Rap City / Choreographer).

I got a chance to speak to the kids ages (16-24) from local Boys & Girls Clubs, and Clark Atlanta University about Nike I.D. and came up with trivia questions to make sure the kids were being attentive. Later in the event we raffled off a Nike I.D. experience to one lucky winner.

Check out some pics from the event…

Video: Señor Kaos Performing “Call Me Señor” on HWM Stage @ 2010 A3C

SOOOOOOOOO.. This past Saturday I performed at the High Water Music stage for the 6th annual A3C Hip Hop festival. I mad two main sets, but was seen over the weekend making a few guest appearances on different stages.

Anyway to make a long story short, I had this magnificent show planned, with a few special guests. I was going to be doing ALL new joints off my new album entitled “The Kaos Effect.” At the last minute we had some technical difficulties, and I could not do my set as planned. So I just ended up rocking beats that Willie Evans was playing off his beat machine, and whatever was available.

Here’s a lil footage of me rocking “Call Me Señor” Produced By Dj Spinna on Saturday.

I WISH I was able to do the set that I planned. I apologize to all the heads who came out to see me rock the new stuff I promised. I will make it up too you all soon.

And shouts to who ever caught this footage.

2010 Red Bull Emsee Event (ATL) Footage

I’ve been meaning to make this post for a min. I found some footage online from the 2010 Red Bull Emsee event that took place in Atlanta, around the end of August 2010.

As I walked in the venue, 4-Ize and Stahhr were matched up for round one. Before the emcees could start though, everyone in the venue (including the emcees) would get to see a large projection screen which consisted of images that the emcees had to incorporate into their verse. There were 5 images to mention within a minutes time. All emcees were judged on their flow, delivery, etc. DJ/Producer Don Cannon, Manchild (2009 Red Bull Emsee Champ), and Bun B served as the guest judges for the evening.

The homie 4-Ize was the first to rhyme and set the bar for the night. Check out his first round footage below… The crazy part is the judges said he lost, cause he failed to mention 2 additional images. Even if your weren’t in the building you can see from the footage he got busy.

Also in round 1 was Stahhr who got BUSY as well, and mentioned all the necessary images. “The inside is all pink” had the crowd going stoopid! HA.

In the end it was Stahhr who advanced to round 2. 4-Ize was very displeased stating he felt he has robbed by Bun B (Guest Judge) who had control over the deciding vote. As it turns out 4-Ize wasn’t the only one that felt he got robbed! The evenings judge Dres The Beatnik voices his personal opinion.

But moving on.. after the first round, things cooled down a taste. Carter Deems, DT, KP, and others came out and did their best, but it wasn’t good enough to make the cut. In the end it all came down to two emcees. Headkrack and Fat Boy who made his way thru rounds wearing no shirt and entertaining the crowd.

Here’s some footage from the round one of the finals. As you can see from the get go this battle belonged to Headkrack.

Final Round 1

Final Round 2

Final Round 3

Since Headkrack was the winner in Atlanta, he went on to compete in the finals which were held in Detroit which were won by Detroit’s own Fowl.
