Dre and Will Ferrell on the new issue of Complex Magazine

Yezure lets step into the time machine real quick. Electronic Arts created the video game “Skate or Die” in 1987 for various consoles such as the Commodore 64, Atari ST, and later on the Nintendo. Something to feed the youth while staying out the street. Throw the game on the Joust and watch you eat my shorts! The kid was a beast on the Freestyle Ramp! See about me! Oh…I’m sorry I blacked out real quick.
Well Nike, always inspired but the untamed youth in us, has brought the Nike “Skate or Die” Dunk. The colors and patterns are straight from the cover of the video game.

These should be on deck at all your local skate shops the first week of February. Step up and throw it back!
This was the second event I promoted in the new year. The first being Algebra @ Sugarhill. We’ve been spreading the word heavy in the streets now, letting ya’ll know Pharoahe was coming to town and that it was gonna be live!
First I definitely have to say next to Little Brother, Pharoahe is the most humblest artist I’ve dealt with. Even with him having throat / cold issues, he still killed the show, knocked out interviews and did drops!
Let me get this off my chest too… Im getting tired of cats not reaching out earlier and just showing up trying to sneak backstage!!! If you trying to conduct an interview or get drops, reach out, and if your are who you say you are, I’ll get you a badge to get backstage and set it up for you! All this last minute sneak shit, is some hoe shit!!!
Now… with that out the way.. Lets Get Back to the Show

Shout out to everybody who came threw last night to see the Scion feature Independent film “Bling: A Planent Rock”
Once a month from Sept 07 – Dec 07, we’ll be showing a different independent film and bringing the director to ATL for a Q&A. Check www.scion.com/route to RSVP yourself for these events. And dont say I didnt tell you about it.
Bling – is definitely a Must See! It’s a documentary that takes Paul Wall, Tego Calderon, and Raekwon toSierra Leonne, Africa to explore how the civil war of the country was fueled by the diamond trade and thousands of innocent people were killed, had limbs amputated, and terrorized for control over these shinny rocks we call “Bling”
If you didn’t get a chance to come threw you and purchase a copy, you can catch it at Amazon.com and other fine retailers online and off. Shout out too Racquel Cepeda (Director of Bling) and Raekwon The Chef (who is featured in the movie) for holding it down!
If you missed it, your a sucka, Bottom Line!!! Check the pics…
Shout out to the homie OZ B (Sierra Leonne Representing).
Hip Hop on a Monday? On the first of October the 2K Sports Bounce Tour invaded ATL. In case you dont remember last years tour featured A Tribe Called Quest / Consequence / and Rhymefest (Great Show by the way). So this years show had some big shoes to fill, and it did just that.
Shout out to the homie Mumblezz who was in town for the event. And shout out to Percee P (Congrats on the new album), A real humble dude as well, and a beast of an Emcee!!!
I’ve never seen Q Tip perform solo, so I was surprised by his set and more suprised that he brought Dj Scratch with him. The highlight of his set is when he brought 2 people from the auidence up on stage to do Phifes verses from “Check The Rhyme.” He brought a girl and a guy up to help. The girl went first, and when she did know the words was Booooed off Quick! lol. The guy held it down Flawslessy, and had the whole place going crazy. You could definitely tell it was dream to be a stage trading verses with Q Tip.
Com Sense killed the show!!! I missed him when he was in Atlanta a few weeks earlier at Opera, so I was really looking forward to the show. I will go on record and say this now — “COMMON HAS THE BEST ONE MAN STAGE SHOW IN HIP HOP, PERIOD.” His energy is Insane! and for those who have never performed before, Its not as easy as it may seem. Being on stage is a very Mental and Physical act.
Sidebar: Also Congrats to Com for winning a BET Award this year, and for also showing the mainstream that music can still be positive and be commercially successful! And for helping to bring light skin brothas back in style, Appreciate ya Bruh! Lol.
.
