The Shoe Game 4 Year Anniversary Party + Jordan XI Cool Grey Launch Party

This past Wednesday night one the most anticipated sneakers of this year was released. The Jordan XI aka the Cool Greys are what many sneakers heads have been waiting for all year. The Shoe Game patterned up with the Nike Store Lenox once again to celebrate their 4 year anniversary. This also became the official Jordan Cool Grey midnight launch event.

Hundreds of people, young, old, black, white, lined up (some got there as early as 4pm) for a chance to get their hands on the shoes which weren’t being sold until midnight. This not only happened in ATL but at sneaker spots all across the county. It was reported in the news that there were even small riots in places like Houston, Texas. Jordan, Cool Greys, etc. all became Trending Topics on the social media website Twitter. There was even SO much traffic on NikeStore.com around midnight that it caused the site to crash momentarily. WOW! No one sneaker should all that Power!

While sneaker heads waited to buy the shoes at midnight, The Shoe Game held raffles, DJ D-Cas keep the vibe festive, and sneaker heads, artists, managers, etc all got their network on. Shouts to G-Roc and Calvin from The Shoe Game not only on celebrating 4 Years, but being a positive force in the ATL sneaker community. Also shouts to DJ Greg Street, CyHi Da Prynce, Young Joc, and everybody else who came out. I posted a couple pics below, check out more at The Shoe Game.

After all these years, Michael Jordan and Nike STILL have sneaker heads going CRAZY around the word. Camping out for limited releases, trading at events like Dunk Exchange, etc., and not even to mention the Re-Sale game industry that has been created over the years via bay and the forums.

Video: Little Brother’s Left Back Tour Stop in Atlanta Footage

This concert was originally suppose to happen in August and got postponed till a later date. By the time LB made it to the ATL, Hip Hop heads were at a fever pitch to see the trio (including Dj Flash) for what could be the last time for a long while live.

At the last minute during the evening, I was called to help host the event in the place of Fort Knox who was unable to make it. In addition to hosting I also performed with 4-Ize and Binkis Recs.

Here’s some pictures and video footage that I managed to capture while also managing to enjoy the show.

LB plotting and planning

Shouts to DJ Jaycee who not only came thru to catch the show, but convinced Dj Flash and LB to rock a few extra joints for ATL at the end of their set.

Here’s a shot of Jaycee and Big Pooh.

I stuck around until the end of the night, and tried to catch a group shot with the whole gang. There’s no telling when ALL of us will be in the same room, at the same time again. It took a while to round everybody up, and unfortunately a few heads bounced a lil early. L-R: Eljay, Shay, DJ Jaycee, Me, Flux, DJ Dug Boogie, DJ Grandman, Big Pooh, Big Dho, Killa Kalm, DJ Mafioso (Missing: 4-Ize, El Da Sensei, Dillon, Rock Most, Phonte).

Here’s some footage of LB taking the stage. The set the night off with “The Listening” transiting into “For You” and finally into “Curtain Call” before the videos end.

Shouts to the homie Eric Nine. A few months back the homie E Nine took a few pics of me, which he altered and turned me into a beast like character. He also did the same for Dj Kemit, Flux, 4-Ize, and many more. This Saturday in ATL these images will be shown for the first time in a special art show taking place at Sound Table.

Events: Converse Tip Off Party

This past weekend Converse brought it’s Band Of Ballers event to ATL and had the city buzzing something serious. Friday and Saturday Converse hosted several events around the city. It all started with the tip off party this past Friday night.

For one night only the GA Freight Depot was transformed into the house of Converse. As you entered there was a long walk way that displayed all the things the Cons brand has been doing in the ATL community. From donating 3K Basketballs to Atlanta / Dekalb Public Schools, to hosting an Open Gym to take youth off the street, etc.

There also new Converse Basketball product displayed including the Converse Drop Step Basketball shoe which I got a picture off below.

After connecting with the brand it was time for partying. There were several open bars, a T-Shirt station where you could create your own Converse T-Shirt, the Hawks / Bucks game was playing on a big projection screen, TKE fam Dj Mars was spinning, and there was even an indoor court that hosted a 3 point contest and plenty trash talking, hosted by Kenny Burns.

… Mind you this was just the kick off party. The official Band Of Ballers took place that next day with Jay Electronica, Sean Price, Shawty Lo, OJ The Juiceman, Jermanie Dupri, Jim Jones, Of Montreal, Spyda (AND 1), various street ballers, and special guest appearance from Camron who popped up on Jim Jones team in the championship. Jim Jones’ team also won the event for the 2nd time in a row

After the game a special invite only afterparty was hosted at Dallas Austin’s house. BBQ, More drinking courtesy of Belvedere Vodka, Rita’s Italian Ice, live performances, and Mayweather fight watching concluded the weekend.

WHEW… If you think that was a lot, imagine how I felt. Lol. There’s plenty of pics and video from Band of Ballers floating around the net. So instead of posting those same images, I wanted to hit ya’ll with a few pics from the Tip Off event…

Overall Converse did the damn thang in Atlanta. Hopefully they keep up the presence in the market, as well as make the product more readily available.

Senor Kaos @ The House Of Conjure: Miami

So in case you didn’t know I spent a week in Miami, Florida around Superbowl time. I had been brought on board to help activate some field promo efforts for Ludacris’ new liquor brand “Conjure Cognac.”

During my stay we hung out at this magnificent mansion on the north side of Miami Beach dubbed “The House Of Conjure.” This place was CRAZY! There were Conjure fountains, a movie theatre, a poker room, a pool and hot tube surrounded by palm trees, and a wine cellar fully stocked with bottles of Conjure. :) … Can you say Paradise.

Don’t get it twisted though I was there for work purposes, so I wasn’t hanging out all the time which is why I was only able to snap a few pictures. Just thought I’d share a lil glimpse into my week. Of course if you follow me on Twitter, you might of saw some of the Twit Pics as well.

During the week Luda was on his grind something HEAVY. He held a listening party for his new album “Battle Of The Sexes (Drops March 9th), Shot a video for “My Chick Bad” with Nicki Minaj, Rocked 2 concerts one in Atlanta at Philips Arena and one at American Airlines Arena with Black Eyed Peas, performed at the BET Haiti telethon concert, hosted a pool party at the Fountainbleu, and made an appearance in a video for a record he has with Dj Khaled. WHEW, and I thought I was busy.

On Superbowl Sunday we caught the game at the Mansion, after the game Lorenz Tate came through and started Djing off the iPod. It was hilarious. He was doing his thing though. I called him Dj O-Dog

Shout out to 4-Ize, D. Burke, Willie, Mike Streetz, and Ludacris. Oh.. and shouts to Chaka who celebrated his birthday that week. Peace to the DTP fam as well.

Nothing greets you better than a fountain of liquor.

Here’s a clip from the Miami New Times with Luda at the House of Conjure as he talks about the brand.
There was a lot of press around, so I’m sure there’s other pics floating around the net as well if your interested.

A Roller Skating Jam Named Kaos

A few weeks back, the good people at Mindzai (Scott Weatherwax) and company put together a Roller Skating Jam at Cascade Skating Rink in Southwest Atlanta.

There was complimentary drinks as well as free skates. Me and TKE fam Chicagorilla decided to check it out to see what was going on.

We ran into Famlams: Zach Wolfe, Mendez, Won, Dj Sky, Dj Teknology, Hibo and snapped a few pics along the way.

Drinking alcohol and roller skating don’t always go together though. A few people caught some bad ones.

All in all we had a GREAT time. I haven’t been roller skating in a LONG time, and realized how much fun I used to have as a kid going skating every weekend.

Tonight: Tighten Up

Tighten-Up.jpg

This is an ongoing raging debate between DJ Jaycee and Apple Jac about who’s the better producer Pete Rock or Premier? Both have put out mixtapes to state their case. The argument could be made on both sides for who’s better producer. Come out tonight to see who’s right…
