EMC Show with Senor Kaos (Vintage Imperial) and Mseize @ Lennys: RECAP

This past Saturday Night April 12th the EMC crew (Masta Ace | Punchline | Wordsworth | and Stricklin) fell threw ATL for a rare live performance. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to get them here to perform since last fall when Punch played me some cuts off the album. Was trying to get these guys on the A3C Hip Hop Festival line up which didn’t happen, so Big Shouts to Rock Most for producing this event, and working hard on making it official! I dont know if people really realize, but we dont get a lot of official Hip Hop shows in Atlanta. I was talking to Wordsworth about how he hasn’t performed in ATL since around 2001 when the Lyricist Lounge Tour fell threw here. I jumped on stage first for what I feel like was one of my best shows, the whole thing was fun, everything flowed great! Stay tuned for the You Tube Footage.  The pictures are courtesy of Arnold Barr and Inori.

The Age of YOUTUBE

So everyone knows about how great youtube is. Whats not to like? You can watch all the old school throwback videos you can think. Childhood cartoons and tv shows that arent on the air anymore. The possibilities are endless. Youtube has opened up outlets that allow users to reach millions of people across the globe at the click of a mouse. But we dont hear about the darker side of youtube..until recently that is.

There has been a growing trend of people recording all sorts of beatdowns and throwing it up on youtube for everyone to see. Some of which have made the news.. Check some of the joints below.

Apparently in this video, this teenage girl was lured over someones house, where she was then held captive and beat up for a half an hour!!! Craziness.

I ran across this video today of a STUDENT beating down a TEACHER while someone records it on their cell phone!

And here is another one of a young girl beating up some kid while someone records it. Lil homie is almost tossed into traffic!

Greasy!! And this is just covering one of the darker sides of youtube. Makes me scared for the parents out there. Lord knows what i would do if i seen my daughter shakin her ass on youtube. SMH..

Bobbito VS. Ease: VIDEO

Former Atlien resident Jose Parla or how I know him – EASE (Inkheads Crew) has been getting busy for years now. I only got the chance to meet this guy once when I was 16, luckily I had my Graff Blackbook on me and he blessed me with the Illy tag. Well recently he had a big art show in Italy with Special Guest DJ Bobbito Garcia aka “Kool Bob Love.” First, get familiar with some of his recent art by checking out this video:

I found this Clip on Bob’s blog earlier today. I call it Bobbito VS Ease check it out for yaself.

Be A Father To Your Child

This is going to be a long winded post so get ready. Like Chuck D “I got so much trouble on my mind”! A lot of websites and media outlets have reported on Curtis Jackson’s evicting his son’s mother out of his $2.4 million mansion in New York. The media has produced scrupulous headlines like: 50 Cent to Ex: GGG-Get Yo S**t and Get Out!50 CENT EVICTING SON AND EX-GIRLFRIEND, 50 Cent wins eviction battle with son, 50 Cent to Evict Son and Former Girlfriend, 50 Cent rich as Croesus, wants to boot son out his home. Now I’m a family man, happily married with kids. I KNOW THE LOVE I HAVE FOR MY CHILDREN & when I read this story I recalled the “I AM WHAT I AM” Reebok commercial he did with his son @ his Connecticut estate & something didn’t seem right to me. The interaction with him and his son in that commercial seemed genuine. So I decided to look into the situation a little more.

House in question

50cent1.jpg

It sits on an acre of property. It’s 5,200-square-feet, has six bedrooms and five bathrooms, a three-car garage, a swimming pool, and more. Records also indicate Curtis paid cash for the place in HIS name.

Consider this:

This time last year Shaniqua Tompkins was receiving $25k per month in Child Support payments and household expenses

Source

How much money does it take to raise a kid?

The $25,000 a month in child support and household expenses that rapper 50 Cent pays to the mother of his 10-year-old son is not enough, says the boy’s mother, Shaniqua Tompkins.

So basically $300k a year for ONE CHILD is not enough?

It was Curtis who filed for Child Support

Source

Meaning the $25k she was getting was of his own accord and not court ordered! When his income increased she wanted hers to as well!!! When she reportedly wanted $50k per month from dude he decided to let a judge decide what was appropriate for him to pay. The judge said $6700 per month was fair.

She is currently living in the house with her boyfriend and his kids:

“To have her living there with her boyfriend and several other people is inappropriate,” said the rap star. “She’s in the house with people I’m not responsible to pay housing for.”

What MAN in his right mind wouldn’t have  a problem with supporting another dude?

I can hear the murmurs now… “You getting off the issue ChicaGOrilla, what about the kid”? My point exactly, this is about the kid. So let me say this, Curtis Jackson took care of his son with no court order for 9 years correct? What on God’s green earth makes any one of us thinks that would not continue? If you are concerned with the kid not being able to enjoy the lavish life anymore then think about this: The court order for $6700 per month is ALL Curtis Jackson is obligated to pay! He is not required to do anything else. Secondly ALL the child support money belongs to their son, not her so it should be used for necessities befitting a ten year old. Third it has been reported that Curtis spends a significant amount of time with his son, what makes you think that will end? If I were Shaniqua Tompkins I would get a job or die tryin’!

R.I.P FROSTY FREEZE!!! … SOHH NOT TO BE TRUSTED!

Yesterday April 3rd Legendary B Boy and Rock Steady Crew Member “Frosty Freeze” passed away. Rest in Peace Frosty Freeze! Now I have to get something off my chest. Earlier this afternoon I was talking to Rodney Carmichael from Creative Loafing and I was telling him about a conversation I had earlier in the day with someone else, who views them-self as a “Hip Hop Head,” student of the game whatever you want to call it. During out convo I say “damn, did you know Frosty Freeze just passed away,” and they say “WHO?” Im thinking maybe my cell phone is breaking up or something, so I say his name again “you know Frosty Freeze from the Rock Steady Crew,” and they were still like hmmm “WHO?” I moved on in the conversation, but after I got off the phone I realized how upset that made me feel. Heres a person whos around the same age as me, and claims to be soo “Hip Hop” and down for the culture, etc. and doesnt event know who Frosty Freeze is??? I have a problem with that.

Me and Chicagorilla were just talking about how in Hip Hop everything it about whats new, and nobody takes time to do their History of the Culture. I told him if I asked some of these new people who are the same age as me to name the titles of two Public Enemy albums they probably wouldn’t even know.

So then I said maybe Im just overreacting… and I have to realize not everybody is into Hip Hop the way I am. So I logged on and proceeded to make my RIP Frosty Freeze post. Then I come across something really, really strange on SOHHthat says “Mr. Freeze of the Rock Steady Crew Dies”

AND SAY I WAIT A MINUTE, FROSTY FREEZE JUST PASSED AWAY, NOT MR. FREEZE, MR FREEZE AND FROSTY FREEZE ARE TWO DIFFERENT B BOYS!!!SO NOW IM REALLY PISSED, IM SAYING HOW IS A SITE SUCH AS SOHH THAT GETS ALL THESE HITS EVERY DAY AND SUPPOSE TO REPRESENT HIP HOP MEDIA, AND THEY CANT EVEN GET THEIR SHIT STRAIGHT!

HOW COULD YOU MAKE A POST ABOUT SOMEBODY DYING WHOS STILL ALIVE!!!!

SO AT THIS TIME I WOULD LIKE TO SEND A SPECIAL FUCK YOU TO SOHH AND TO WHO EVER MADE THAT POST! IT’S TIME FOR CATS TO START DOING THEIR HOMEWORK! AND AT THE SAME TIME TO START CALLING OUT ALL THESE FAKE ASS HIP HOP CATS!!!

AS ONE OF MY BIG BROTHERS H20 WOULD SAY “IF CATS DESERVE TO GET BOOED, DONT BE SCARED TO BOO THEY ASS!!!

“I could go on and on, But Im just gonna send my Condolences to the family of Frosty Freeze and to all the Rock Steady Crew Fam.

Frosty Freeze died yesterday at age 44. The man had crazy style when it came to dancing, I’ll never forgot watching his movements as a kid, as well as Crazy Legs, Ken Swift, Etc and being like “damn how’d they do that!” …. You will be missed, But not forgotten!

Airline Prices Taking Off!!

The cost is flying is going up like crazy! Why? You already know, the cost of Gas has Airlines charging all kinds of fees these days. Check the video and story below:

Delta Air Lines is imposing new or higher fees on a host of travelers, including frequent fliers, passengers traveling with pets and people booking their tickets over the phone. The fee changes, which go into effect Tuesday (April 2nd), come as Delta and its competitors try to boost revenue to offset record fuel prices. Delta did not say how much revenue it expected from the fee changes, but the parent company of United Airlines said new luggage fees would generate more than $100 million annually.

The industry has had mixed success with fare increases.Delta, based in Atlanta, also said carrying a pet in the cabin will cost $100 instead of $75, starting Tuesday. The oversize bag fee will be $150 instead of $100. The unaccompanied minor fee will be $100 on all flights instead of $50 for nonstop flights and $100 for connecting flights.

In February, UAL Corp.’s United Airlines said it would in May start charging domestic passengers $25 to check in a second piece of luggage. Certain elite fliers are exempt from that fee. On Friday, Northwest said it would begin charging $25 each way for a second checked bag. It also raised its fee for a third bag from $80 to $100. And it doubled its $25 fee for bags over 50 pounds

Winter Music Conference WMC Miami Re Cap

So right after the A3C Hip Hop Festival was over, I took a trip down to Miami for the Winter Music Conference. I was a guest of Kecia (Red Bull Music Academy) and the talented Eva Kennedy. It was refreshing to be on Miami Beach coming from Cold Atlanta. Unfortunately I didn’t take a lot of pictures during my stay. Shout out to everybody I bumped into or met while down there: Pyramid, Daz I Kue, Cosmo Baker, Dj Eleven, Benji B, Tati, and the NC Crew: Jodi, Apple Juice Kid, and Forge.

 img_3018.JPG

When I arrived we were greeted by the beautiful Red Bull Wing Team who gave us our survivor kits for the week, which included a lil bottle of Grey Goose, a disposable camera, and some Tylenol.

March Madness: Tornado Rips Threw ATL

A crazy storm came threw the city last night and tore up some stuff downtown. I was not too far from the area getting ready to perform when it all went down. I heard the GA dome sustained some damage during the SEC Basketball games, which had to be moved to GA Tech’s Stadium. I went down there earlier today to snap a couple pics. Here’s an Exclusive look at the area: As you can ee some of the High Rises are missing windows, billboards fell on cars, and there was lots of Flooding in several hotels. As long as I’ve been in Atlanta, I’ve never seen anything like this, Crazy! Thanks to everybody in other cities who reached out to me to make sure everything is okay.

A Bed Made Out of Sneakers

Recently I moved, and had to put a lot of my sneakers in a storage space cause there was no room for them. If you know me, you know I never claim to be or strive to be a sneaker “kingpin,” “collector,” or none of that. I simply buy kicks that I think are fresh and most importantly wear them. I have a few really exclusive / hard to find pieces but most of my stuff is general release stuff, most has been sitting on ice and is impossible to find these days though. So after all the moving, Im exhausted, and made a bed out of sneakers to pass out on.

Nighty Night, sleep tight, don’t let the Air Maxes Bite!

If you go back to October you’ll notice we gave away Nike Dunks, Reebok Trainers, ETC to some of Atlanta’s Homeless. These are just a few pairs of the madness I still have left!
