The good people from the New Content stopped by Grammy Award winning producer Focus’ private listening party this past weekend. Check out the footage.
I got the chance to re-meet focus last month during A3C weekend via Big Pooh. Cool dude, talented cat, can’t wait to work with him. Check out more at The New Content
I swear the sneaker gods do NOT want me to have any money. The cement Jordan 3′s just dropped back in January, now Brand Jordan is hitting us with the True Blue 3′s tomorrow. From what I’m hearing these will be pretty limited everywhere you go, better get on it, if you’re trying to secure a pair.
The influence of Uncle Charlie Wilson on r&b and hip-hop is extraordinary. From being the main force in the legendary Gap Band, who’s classic songs “Yearnin For Your Love”, “Outstanding” and “Dropped A Bomb On Me” have been sampled in countless hip-hop, r&b and pop songs, to being featured on many newer artist’s current songs. Join DJ Synapse, who takes listeners through some of the greatest Charlie Wilson compisitions and Gap Band songs, and the songs that sampled them, as well as newer songs by Kanye West, T-Pain and Lil Kim that have featured the seminal r&b star.
Make sure to look out for Charlie’s new album “Just Charlie” and the single “You Are” which is getting mega-airplay on urban radio.
Synapse has been a fixture on the New York scene for over 10 years, and he’s known as a “culture purveyor”, as he schools his audiences on way more than just music. His connection to the founders of DJ culture is undeniable, becoming respected by the originators, and the new guard.
He’s DJ’d alongside KOOL HERC, RED ALERT, VIKTER DUPLAIX, PETE ROCK, DE LA SOUL, PRINCE PAUL, MOS DEF, DJ PREMIER, ROB SWIFT, JAZZY JAY, DISCO D, STRETCH ARMSTRONG, URSULA 1000, LORD SEAR, J PERIOD, AARON LACRATE, NEIL ARMSTRONG, EVIL DEE, DJ AYRES, SCOTTIE B, BOBBITO and more.

Let me just say this… Clan Destined is two young brothers who I would not want to have to see on the mic. LOL
This past Saturday at Perfect Attendance my homies DT and Amdex invited me out to perform at the Battle Of The Duo’s event they were doing at 529 in East Atlanta. Before I jumped on stage and rocked on the song we have together “16 Bars” Amdex took shots, scratch that Murdered the competition verbally on the mic.
I didn’t stick around too much longer after that, but I heard it got even more interesting at the end of the night when there was a 3 way tie, and cats to had to Freestyle battle it out.
If you woke up EARLY this morning in ATL and turned on your TV to NBC you saw Atlanta’s own Collective Efforts performing on the Metromix stage during the 11 Alive News Morning Show.
I was invited out to come perform my verse from the song “The Dream” which will appear on CE’s new album “Freezing World” (Release Date: Feb 16, 2010)
The crew was at the spot at 3am. I showed up about 4:30am (told you it was early). The cameras started rolling at 6am, and BAM, Collective Efforts was invading your household.
Me and Dillon Maurer were schelduled as featured guests during this mornings performance. Unfortunately both of our parts were cut from this video I found online. BUT… not to fear, because there is footage with both of us rocking, as well as some behind the scenes footage on the way.
In the meantime, get familiar with Collective Efforts if you aren’t already. Check it…
You may not know who Tiny Gallon is. Possibly a cousin of Big Reczilla even. Well he will forever be known no matter if he makes it to the NBA or not for this.
