The Los Angeles Lakers remain undefeated as the beat the New Orleans Hornets last night. Kobe Bryant recorded 20 points, four rebounds and six assists. Chris Paul contributed a game high 30 points but that was not enough to take down the defending Western Conference Champions.

The Atlanta Hawks lost their first game of the season last night to the defending champion Boston Celtics. If you don’t remember, these two teams faced each other in an unforgettable first round series that went to seven games in favor of the Celtics. Paul Pierce scored 34 points including the game winning basket with .5 seconds remaining. Joe Johnson scored a team high 28 points to lead the Hawks. I have followed the Hawks for the past 10 years and I can say that I can see them as a top 5 team. Yes I said it!!! (LOL)

Ryan Lochte set the world record and wins the gold for the United States swimming team in the 200 meter backstroke last night winning in 1 minute and 53.94. The previous record was set by his opponent Aaron Peirsol who took the silver. The United States is definitely making their country proud in this division. Lets hope that the can continue this streak.
