Video: A3C Festival 2011 Short Film *IndieMusik Exclusive*

As of yesterday the smoke cleared and the 2011 A3C Festival was officially over. (*shreds tear*). It was a CRAZY 3 days of non stop action indeed. The festival kicked off with me and 4-Ize performing as Ultra Beast on the Creative Loafing Stage / Hip Hop DX showcase on Thursday night. We shared the stage along with Joe Scudda, Gods Illa, Homeboy Sandman, Kosha Dillz, Freeway, and Random Axe. Earlier that day I posted up at the Kevin Nottingham showcase where I caught Lyric Jones, The Regiment, Boog Brown, Bodega Brovas, El Da Sensei, One Be Lo, J-Live and Torae all tear it down!

On Friday I witnessed Jean Grae, Big Krit, Saigon, Aleon Craft, Dee 1, and the Jamla roster (Big Remo, Away Team, Rapsody, Laws, etc) get busy before heading to MJQ for the Face Off 6 year anniversary where DJ Rasta Root, Evil Dee, Maseo of De La Soul, and Green Lantern all destroyed the turntables.

Then… by Saturday my voice was escaping me. Me and 4-Ize recorded a record with The Beatminerz for a new project their working on, and afterwards I caught up with AJ (SalemPsalms) and Headkrack to knock out a joint for the Beatz & Lyrics To Go Mixtape. A got a chance to get a nap in, but by doing so I missed sets by Elzhi, M.O.P., Dead Prez, Termanology. Right after I performed at the Red Bull stage for the 5 Boro / Big Daddy Kane Function. Afterwards BDK came out and pretty much showed any other performer who rocked at A3C this weekend why he was and still is the king!

Shouts to Indie Musik, check out this short film they put together once again this year. If you look closely you’ll see some footage of me rocking a Gorilla suit on stage.

Well it’s about that time again. A3C is over and yeah it sucks, especially for those who missed this year but for the second year I present to you a short wrap up I shot of what the atmosphere looked like. Thanks to everyone who made this event awesome from A3C staff, the bloggers, and of course the artists. Special thanks to Malice, Fort Knox, Dee-1, Torae, Thurz, Fashawn, and Izaiah So Dope.

I can’t wait to check out ALL that footage that will be hitting you tube in the next few days / weeks. If you missed A3C this year, don’t play yourself next October, BE THERE! Shouts to everybody I bumped into or met for the first time. Shouts to iHeartDilla, Shalay, Sue, Torae, E Holla, Da Beatminerz, 9th Wonder, Dante Ross, Mr. Len, 4-Ize, Locsmif, Truth ATL, Blitz, Frank Black, Dres The Beatnik, J-Live, Laws, Khrysis, Big Remo, etc.

Video: Señor Kaos & 4-Ize As ULTRA BEAST Performing At 2011 A3C Festival

Last night Oct 6th kicked off the 7th annual A3C Festival. They called on the Beast Señor Kaos and 4-Ize to come set things off right. We rocked as apart of the Hip Hop DX showcase on the Creative Loafing stage along with artists: Joe Scudda, Homeboy Sandman, Kosha Dillz, Bronze Nazareth, Gods Illa, Freeway, and Random Axe (Sean Price, Guilty Simpson, & Black Milk).

Before I performed I hit the Kevin Nottingham stage and caught Lyric Jones, Bodega Brovas, Torae, J-Live, Boog Brown, El Da Sensei, and One Be Lo, set things off right. I missed Big Pooh (Little Brother) but heard he KILLED it. I must say Day 1 of the A3C Festival was pretty CRAZY! The fans came out to support, the artist brought their A game, and the sound was Amazing on all stages.

As I get ready for day two, wanted to leave y’all with this. Me, 4-Ize, and Anthony David performing “Hard To Quit The Rhyme” live.

Television: Black Star Perform New Record “Fix Up” On The Colbert Report + Interview

A week after Black Star cancelled their show in ATL (and the rest of the tour from what I’m hearing) they stopped by the Colbert Report to perform a new record called “Fix Up.” I take it from the “Madlib Invasion” shouts in the intro, this joint is produced by Madlib.

Here is footage of the performance as well as the interview with Steven Colbert which is pretty hilarious by the way. Mos Def talks about his name change to Yasiin Bey, and they lace Colbert with the classy warrior package. Mos says “Cause if it’s a class war, you should be a classy warrior” Word. New Black Star in 2012? I guess we’ll see.

“I got swag and you gave me some swagger” – Steven Colbert. I guess that’s what the Fix Up is all about.

Video: Big Rec – RHHIB / Real Hip Hop Is Back

Big Rec drops his long awaited video for the ATL street anthem “Real Hip Hop Is Back.” The video looks great, and I’m honored to have been apart of the shoot. This record has kept heads nodding for the past couple years. It’s good to finally see a visual for it. Salute to Big Rec. If your in ATL this weekend you can catch him and his crew “The Five” performing at the A3C Festival.

Video: Mazzi (S.O.U.L. Purpose) “Squeeze Freestyle” Live From Japan

Shouts to my NY homie Mazzi. Looks like he was recently in Tokyo, Japan and shot a lil video during his journey. I’m guessing this joint is called “Squeeze Freestyle” cause that’s the same verse he used on the Squeeze Radio promo.

I hope he got he got me a pair of those Star Trek shades from Japan. I always wanted some of those.

Video: Sheen Brothers (4th Pyramid & Cosmo Baker) “It’s So Hot” Feat. Greg Nice

New video from the “Sheen Brothers” – 4th Pyramid & Cosmo Baker. The song is called “It’s So Hot” and features none other than Greg Nice himself.

I know one thing I wish I was on the set on this video, looks like it was a blast.

The checkered taxi cab and dashiki may pay homage to the throwback vibe of the Sheen Bros’ “It’s So Hot,” but directors The ICU keep this party clip fresh and focused. This red hot blast of disco rap from 4th Pyramid, Cosmo Baker and special guest Greg Nice stays lit from dusk ’til dawn. You’re going to need to keep those shades on, ya’ll.
