Meeks-Front-Cover-1.jpg

YOOO in case you didn’t know today is officially the first day of summer. Let me welcome you to Hotlanta where it was 94 degrees earlier but it really felt like 102. As the sun set the temperature dropped in the city… that was UNTIL I opened my e-mail to the new HEAT Eddie Meeks sent over.

Eddie Meeks hit TKE off with the new sampler to his album “Cappuccino’s Unauthorized Records” as well as his new video directed by DJ Pocket.

Also I announced earlier via Twitter that I would be hosting Meeks LP release party tomorrow night here in ATL at 529 EAV. Live performances from Clan Destined, Ekundayo, and Eddie Meeks himself.

Not sure what to expect from Meeks Cappuccino’s new project. Check out the sampler below.

The Making Of A Classic: Eddie Meeks’ “Cappuccino” Album Defies Conventional Wisdom

May 31, 2011, Atlanta, GA – Eddie Meeks is no stranger to the independent Hiphop music scene. He has released several albums through his own imprint Asylum Entertainment Group International as well as collaborations with other labels. His latest project, “Cappuccino’s Unauthorized Recordings” is due to be released via Internet only through outlets like ITunes. The album release date is June 21, 2011. Allowing the songs to be purchased initially as downloads will help Eddie Meeks continue to record songs and have fun while doing so. It will also allow for the songs to reach more customers in a shorter period of time. Compact discs will be manufactured at a latter date.

Fans will also be able to purchase the songs they like instead of purchasing the full album. This is what the music business is moving toward and it is a more customer-friendly approach. Technology has changed the landscape of the music business and selling music online as downloads is how many people buy their music. They can simply download songs to their cell phone, mp3 players, computers, etc.

In addition to the initial online sales approach, Eddie Meeks will do a series of online videos to promote the album’s release. The videos will be from songs on the album and also candid interviews from Eddie and some of the people who are familiar with him and his work.
