Flashback Friday’s: Fela Kuti

Fela Kuti Documentary PART 1

This year we’re kicking Flashback Friday’s off a little bit different. We’re going to celebrate the lives of those we recently lost and pay homage to them making preparation for the new that will spring forth. If you’ve ever been to a DJ Kemit party then surely you’ve heard him spin Fela Kuti at some point. Do yourself a favor and take the time to do the knowledge on Fela. We lost a great human being to AIDS.

“Fela Anikulapo Kuti (15 October 1938–2 August 1997), or simply Fela, was a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, pioneer of afrobeat music, human rights activist, and political maverick.”
