Gas Shortage in Atlanta: Gas Prices Are Too Damn High Pt. 2
MAAAAN WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THE GAS!!!
For the past week gas stations have been scarce with gas. Some stations haven’t had Regular Unleaded for DAYS! Others have gas, but there charging an arm and a leg for a gallon of it.
Hurricane Ike came threw Texas last weekend, and last Friday the news was telling people “make sure you gas up, because if Hurricane Ike causes a lot of damage, there will be shortages of gas.” A lot of people scrambled to the pump. Even myself at 3am found myself out in the streets needing gas, and had to drive to 3 different stations before I found one that was selling gas.
How did the gas go up before the morning is something I will never understand.
Ike came and went, and didn’t do as much damage as expected, but gas stations are still short on gas, and prices in some places are outrages. I passed a station with Regular for $4.20.
Check the news. ATL has some of the highest gas in the country right now. DAMN MARTA!
And then this happened:
Ga. officials subpoena gas station records
“The state has subpoenaed financial records from a handful of gas stations after hundreds of residents called to complain about price gouging in the wake of Hurricane Ike.”
I knew I wasn’t the only one who thought something was funny.

I thought it was kind of funny when I saw a guy on the 11 o’clock news saying that he had been waiting for over 2 hours to fill up his car. That was until my wife told me that she needed gas in her car to get to work the next day. I LITERALLY DROVE PAST 28 DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS before finding one that still had gas for sale. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I think that tomorrow there is going to be a staggering number of stranded motorists around the Atlanta area who couldn’t find fuel. GOOD LUCK ATLANTA!
