MOS DEF IS BACK!!!
I think I speak for a lot of fans out there when I say Mos has been slipping for the past few years. I think it all started with that song “Working It Out” (“you in the building, I own the building”) gave me and Dj Black Daniels a laugh for a while and became the new inside joke, but really it seems like once that first movie check cleared Mos was like “I’ll Holla.” LOL
Don’t get me wrong he’s had some Hot joints here and there too. That “Beef” joint is classic, and did you hear that “Surpreme, Surpreme” joint with him and Kweli? WOW! Mos MURDERED that joint!!!
But anything after that, and especially the True Magic LP was not the best we’ve heard from Mos. Even his live show has been a lil sub par. I saw him twice last summer (Once in NYC and again in Atlanta).
And I know, I know, he’s been having label problems, Hell what artist hasn’t been? Have you ever met an artist that was 100% happy with their record label? I haven’t
And I also know that movie $$$ is a LOT better than the Emceeing dough.
But after I heard this joint at 3:30 am tonight, I woke right up and said “THE MIGHTY MOS IS BACK!”
I like this joint. It’s called “The Glow” and I’m praying it’s not something old and unreleased (cause that would really do nothing for what I’m trying to say in this post!
).
Check it out, and because you check the Blog you can DOWNLOAD it as well.

definitely the proper return of the “Universal Magnetic” Mos Def, that’s the Mos that i endorse. i don’t mind it when brothas do a little musical experimentin’ ey’ now and then, but dis nigga took it too far and wasn’t able to reel himself back in. the BOOM BAP is where it’s at…
peace…
