Movie Review: Black Dynamite

So me, Senor and Rozzi Daime had the opportunity to check out an advanced screening of Black Dynamite this evening at AMC theaters on Cumberland Pkwy and here are my thoughts…

GO SEE THIS SON!

 THE FILM IS HILARIOUS!!!

If you are a fan as much as I am for ’70′s Blaxploitation flicks, then you’ll enjoy this spoof of a film. I’ll admit it was borderline stereotypical but the comedy was soooooo over the top that it actually stayed true to the aesthetic of those 1970′s movies. Michael Jai White who co-wrote the screenplay, played the convincing lead in this comedy and he did not disappoint. Supporting cast members included Brian McKnight, Arsenio Hall, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Kim Whytley, Nicole Ari Parker, John Salley & Bokeem Woodbine. Again I strongly urge you to go see this movie people.

I don’t want to give up to much of the plot of the movie (which was all ove r the place) but it starts with Black Dynamite getting some good loving from at least six women to his brother getting killed and steam rolls from there. But only in the 70′s would some stuff like that happen.

I laughed a lot. Loved the Wise Old Pimp speech that was like the one from The Mack, but WAYYY crazier.

They have a good interview with White and the director over at CHUD.
