News?: 4-Ize Featured On CBS News For Sticker Campaign
It’s a SAD day in ATL news when human smuggling is at an all time high, homeless people are running around the city rampant, and dealers are selling crack-cocaine in broad daylight on busy streets in Atlanta. … And THIS is what the news has to talk about? (Allen Iverson Voice): “All that’s going on in the city of Atlanta, and we talking bout stickers? We talking bout stickers? not the crime, not the un-employment, but we talking bout stickers!?”
So last night me and the homie 4-Ize hit the studio and knocked out a record produced by Floyd The Locsmif for this Ultra Beast project. After the studio we went over to Door 44 for the Crown Royal Big Boi event with Killer Mike and Pill. A lil after 11pm 4-Ize’s phone starts blowing up. People are calling him to let him know he’s just been featured on the nighty news. From the way it sounded at first, the police were looking for the homie, so we shook the spot ASAP!
What was he featured on the evening news for? Promotional stickers that he put up all over the city of ATL some 4 years ago. Now if you’ve ever been to ATL you have surely seen the red and white 4-Ize stickers at every major intersection, exit ramp, etc. These stickers didn’t just appear overnight, they’ve been up for some 4 years now, and the city has been too lazy to take em down.
So shouts to the news for being 4 years LATE on reporting about this, and shouts to Tony McNary for the FREE publicity. Shouts to 4-Ize for going HARD promoting himself. He put up SOOOOO many stickers that the news had to say something about it…. now that’s pretty Gangsta!
Make sure you check out 4ize.com to purchase music, downloads, show updates, etc. Also you catch 4-Ize on Twitter as well.
The funny part, is where the news says “they tried to contract 4-Ize but didn’t receive a response.” 4-Ize says “Maaaaaaaan ain’t nobody tried to contact me!” This just shows you how BOGUS the news is, and how you believe everything you see on TV. Feel free to hit up Tony McNary (The Writer Of The Story) and let him know how wack he is. Tony.Mcnary@cbsatlanta.com
From CBS News:
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
You may have noticed those red-and-white stickers that read “4-ize” plastered on street signs and light poles all throughout Atlanta.
A CBS Atlanta news crew counted close to 100 of those stickers on the Flat Shoals Road exit ramp off I-20 east. Driver who take that exit said the stickers are tacky. “Anything being stuck up like that, I have a problem with it because it makes the neighborhood look bad,” said a driver. Drivers said they couldn’t help but notice the stickers because they are on both sides of the road, …stuck on just about every metal object. The news crew found the stickers posted on signs at 11 different intersections.
People CBS Atlanta spoke with didn’t know what or who 4-ize is.
So, CBS Atlanta Googled the name and found out he is an Atlanta rapper called, Tony 4-ize. 4-ize brags about the stickers on his website, where he states: “Everybody knows those stickers. DJ Scorpio had the brilliant idea of plastering Atlanta with highly visible, red 4-ize stickers.”
He thinks it’s brilliant, but people CBS Atlanta spoke with said the stickers are a nuisance. “I think there is a place for those kinds of things, but not on the back of street signs,” said Virginia White. “I’d actually like to see them removed,” said another driver. They said they want the city to take action. “Just crack down on it a little bit more so people just don’t stick stickers all willy-nilly around town,” said White. CBS Atlanta contacted Atlanta’s Public Works Department. A spokeswoman told us the city is investigating the stickers. She emailed us this statement:
“Stickers or other items installed within the public right of way, without the permission of the City of Atlanta, are considered illegal.”
CBS Atlanta also tried to contact 4-ize, but no one responded to our emails. <- FALSE!!!
