Señor Kaos 2012 Black Friday Birthday Extravaganza Nov. 23rd (ATL)

Save the date, mark your calendar, do whatever you need to do to remember that my Birthday party is going down on Friday November 23rd, 2012 aka Black Friday.

For the past 3 years me and (Bugz In The Attic DJ/Producer) Daz-I-Kue have been celebrating our Birthday (which we share on 11.22) with a party with some of our favorite DJ’s. The rules are simple. You must dance, meet somebody new, and have fun. The past two years we’ve treated the ATL with Waajeed & Rich Medina. This year we’re keeping it ATL with DJ’s Kemit & Rasta Root.

In the spirit of Black Friday, we’re doing a 2 for 1 special like never before. Admission into the Birthday Jumpoff will also get you into the “Hot Vs. Dope” event next door at Space 2 with DJ’s J-Live & Applejac will be holding down the sounds at. Check the flyer below for the info and spread the word.

Video: Slimm Calhoun & C-Bone Performing “Gangsta S*^#” at 4-Ize’s Birthday Party

This past Saturday night September 8th, I hosted 4-Ize and Floyd The Locsmif’s “Dirty Virgin Virgo” Birthday celebration at 529. 4-Ize invited me to perform a joint cuts we have together including classic example, jacuzzi jap out, etc. I also assisted with some hype man duties on cuts like Rolling Like A Gee, and Rap Sucks.

In addition to performances by 4-Ize, and J-Live, Dungeon Families own Slim Calhoun (Slimm Cutta) brought out some DF alums C Bone, and Lil Will for his performance. Here’s just a lil footage of what went down. If you missed out, slap yaself in the face with two bricks. And Happy Birthday 4-Ize!!!

Video: Jay Qwest Feat. Boog Brown & Methuzulah – “Offiseer”

New HEAT from ATL’s own Jay Qwest with Boog Brown and Methuzulah on deck. Oh.. and can’t forget Illastrate on the beat. Check it out…

Atlanta emcee Jay Qwest proudly presents the the J. Barnard-directed music video for “Offiseer”, the lead single from his forthcoming album Whiskey & Gun Powder, dropping April 24 on Elevated Press Records. “Offiseer” features Detroit-bred emcee Boog Brown (who released Brown Study in 2010 on Mello Music Group) and Methuzulah (picked by 50 Cent and Common as one of Youtube’s Top 20 Indie Artists), all ATL residents. Also residing in Atlanta, Indiana-bred producer Illastrate produced “Offiseer”, adding to a list of credits that includes J-Live and Treach from Naughty By Nature. “The song ‘Offiseer’ was written from personal experience and frustration dealing with police in Atlanta” Explains Jay. “After writing it, I realized how the song became like my own version of ‘Sound of da Police’ by KRS-One. So with that in mind, I wanted to pay homage to that song too, mixing the words ‘officer’ with ‘overseer’ making the title ‘Offiseer’. It is an unfortunate coincidence how this song relates to the recent shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Florida, as well as so many other circumstances in this country concerning people of color and law enforcement. I think it’s tragic that we can’t always trust the police to protect us.”

New Music: Señor Kaos Featuring J-Live & Flux “Restless” Produced By Illastrate

Restless Featuring J-Live and Flux (Binkis Recs) leaked to the net this past Friday 11.11.11 the same day my album dropped. It is featured on my “The Kaos Effect” LP and has been getting a great response since it hit this net this past weekend.

The song is about being an independent artist constantly proving yourself, paying dues. My dues have been paid, I’ve been blessed to work with some Hip Hop legends like Phife, DJ Spinna, Large Professor, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Punchline, etc. who all believe in what I have to say. I feel like it’s time for the Hip Hop world and gatekeepers to stop sleeping and WAKE UP! This song is also dedicated to all the people in the world who work super hard and lose sleep chasing your dreams. Check it out, I hope everybody enjoys it. If you like this joint, make sure you check out the whole album “The Kaos Effect.”
